The new structural engineering laboratory is ready for scientists and students alike. After construction totaling $22 million, this finished building stretches out over 42,000-square-feet. It offers plenty of space to experiment, taking over from a smaller lab in the Harbert Center.

What features does the new lab offer?

Auburn engineering students are about to enjoy some incredible new resources. The lab boasts a wide array of high-tech features such as:

  • A geotechnical chamber;
  • A structural testing laboratory that can fit testing items that are as long as 140 feet;
  • A high bay laboratory;
  • Areas for students and faculty to gather and learn;
  • A laboratory designed to test concrete;
  • And more.

With all those amazing additions, it sounds like a solid future is set in stone for structural engineering students!
