Thanksgiving is two days away! For many, the family feast kicks off traditions that make up the whole weekend, like holiday shopping and watching football. In Auburn-Opelika, it goes without saying this weekend is about the Iron Bowl, but before the actual kick-off, plan to visit both downtown Auburn and Opelika to shop local on Small Business Saturday 2020.
Support Local Businesses this Saturday!
Get a jump start on your holiday shopping with Small Business Saturday on November 28. Small Business Saturday is an annual day that encourages communities across America to get out and support locally-owned, brick and mortar shops. This is in contrast to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which typically involve big box retail and ecommerce brands.
For both downtown Opelika and Auburn, that means plenty of specialty shops from clothing to shoes to unique gifts and much more. And if you work up an appetite with all that shopping, leave time to enjoy a delicious meal at a locally-owned downtown restaurant.
Worried you won’t have time to hit both downtowns on Saturday? No worries! Check out what Auburn has planned for the Friday before.
Don’t miss Blue Friday in Auburn!
Forget Black Friday! Here, it’s called Blue Friday, and it’s all about supporting local shops. Take advantage of extended store hours, doorbusters, and specials this Friday, Nov. 27, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Auburn.
Shop local on Small Business Saturday 2020 and give back to your community! Support your community—your friends and neighbors—this holiday season and find special gifts for those you love. It’s a win-win!
