Auburn is gearing up for another football season. This year, excitement soars to new heights with the arrival of our new head coach, Alex Golesh. With a fresh perspective and a passion for the game, Coach Golesh is ready to lead the Tigers to victory. But the thrills don’t stop at the stadium. Auburn’s cherished tradition, Football, Fans and Feathers, is back, promising unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors.
About Football, Fans and Feathers
Held the Friday before each home game from September through November, Football, Fans and Feathers is a unique program offered by the Auburn University Raptor Center. This high-flying show allows fans to witness birds of prey like hawks, falcons and eagles in action as they soar over the crowd.
Each show is an educational journey into the world of raptors, covering natural history, conservation and rehabilitation. Every performance is different, featuring a variety of raptor species, all permanent residents due to prior injuries or human imprinting.
Plan your visit
The event takes place at the Edgar B. Carter Educational Amphitheater, located at 1350 Pratt-Carden Drive, with gates opening at 3 p.m. and the show starting at 4 p.m. on select Fridays: Sept. 11, 18, 25; Oct. 23; and Nov. 6 and 20.
Tickets can be purchased in advance, and children three and under attend free. Remember, the amphitheater is open-air with limited shade, so bringing your own chair, food or drink is encouraged. However, only service animals are allowed.
More about the Raptor Center
Part of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, the Raptor Center is dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of birds of prey. It provides a sanctuary for non-releasable birds, offering them a permanent home and a chance to educate the public. Each Football, Fans and Feathers show is a testament to the center’s vital work and its commitment to wildlife education.
