A Little History
The Bonnie Plants website, shares the inspiring story of the plant farm as well as all-things gardening—and even recipes featuring vegetables and herbs grown in the greenhouses. What started with $50, a little land in Livingston’s hometown of Union Springs, and two pounds of cabbage seeds has grown to almost 300 plant varieties—specializing in vegetables and herbs (including organics)—and more than 70 growing stations across the US. This is essential to providing fresh and healthy plants to all 50 states and even Canada.
They’ve come a long way from hauling cabbage plants in a buggy to town to sell them in 1918. Today people can easily have the joy and satisfaction of growing their own food with the click of a button. Bonnie Plants can be ordered online from retailers such as Amazon, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Tractor Supply Co., and Walmart.
The Bonnie Plants headquarters in Opelika is scheduled for completion in late 2021. It will be located at 2801 Interstate Dr. behind Tiger Town.
