Join an Alabama Audubon ambassador on a bird-watching adventure and experience the wonders of nature that make this area a special place to call home.
Discover Birdability Week
Mark your calendars for Friday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 9 a.m., and head to the Wood Duck Nature Preserve at 3600 Waverly Parkway. This event is part of a week-long celebration hosted by Alabama Audubon from Oct. 20-26, aimed at making birding accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
With birding being one of the fastest-growing outdoor activities, this is a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and the community.
Explore the Trail with Expert Guidance
Alabama Audubon Ambassador Barry Fleming will lead participants on an easy, mostly flat trail through the preserve, one of the 34 sites along the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or a curious newbie, Barry’s expertise will enrich your experience as he shares tips and insights into the diverse avian life, based on sight and sound.
