As summer unfolds in Auburn-Opelika, there’s no better way to celebrate than by visiting one of the seasonal farmers’ markets around town. Each week, these markets offer an abundance of fresh, locally grown produce, handmade crafts and baked goods.

Whether you’re a fan of juicy tomatoes, sweet corn or ripe strawberries, these markets have something for everyone. Let’s check out the thriving world of seasonal farmers’ markets around town now!

O Grows Summer Farmers Market

Set against the charming backdrop of Opelika Courthouse Square, the O Grows Summer Farmers’ Market is a must-visit every Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. This lively market is more than just a shopping destination—it’s a community gathering where visitors can enjoy live music from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and story time at the Opelika Public Library from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

The market is a treasure trove of fresh produce, including tomatoes, corn, eggplant, lettuce, berries and more. Check out their Facebook page for the latest updates on weather and vendor offerings.

The Market at Ag Heritage Park

Hosted by Auburn University’s College of Agriculture, The Market at Ag Heritage Park is an open-air, growers-only market that takes place every Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. during the summer. This market is committed to supporting local farmers and ensuring that every vendor is from surrounding counties. With more than 30 vendors throughout the summer, you’ll find a fun array of produce, flowers, candles, dog treats and more.

Throughout the summer, it will continue to be a destination for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, herbs and plants—plus locally produced jams, jellies, soaps, honey and goat cheese.

City Market

For those who prefer a weekend outing, the City Market is held every Saturday until Aug. 30 at Town Creek Park, 1150 S. Gay St. From 8 to 11 a.m., this market, organized by the Auburn Parks and Recreation Department, brings together local growers and artisans to offer an impressive selection of fresh, local and handmade products.

The City Market is another opportunity to support local farmers and artisans while enjoying the vibrant community atmosphere. Stay informed about the latest announcements and weekly vendor lists by following their Facebook and Instagram pages.
